Russell Hawyes I paint mostly landscapes and work exclusively in oils.
Born in 1983. My portfolio consists mostly of South African landscapes done in oils. I try to work as realistically as possible. My biggest influence is, Russian artist, Dmitry Nikashin, and most helpful guide Chris Crake from The Crake Gallery in Johannesburg. I started painting at a young age. At the age of 18 I worked at the Impala Platinum mines in Rustenburg, but quit that and started doing pencil portraits at various restaurants in Johannesburg. Since then I have exhibited extensively in Johannesburg, East London and Grahamstown. For more information or questions feel free to email me: rustleart@gmail.com
