Nell Hazinski Pottery, porcelain tableware
I make porcelain pots to contain and offer food and flowers.
I aim to thoughtfully and carefully make objects that ritualize and enhance the food we eat, quietly nourishing us as they accompany our daily tasks. Thrown and altered shapes like the altered pitchers and large oval servers are all meant to work, to be seen on tables with food in them.
Currently I work in my studio, Milkhouse Studio, and teach pottery at Chester Springs Studio. I've taught ceramics in several art centers in the Philadelphia area, at Seisen International School in Tokyo, Japan, and at SUNY Binghamton, New York. I was a founding member of a cooperative fine crafts gallery, and was a resident at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia.
