John Jaques Figurative and abstract/Oil Paintings
A Painter and drawer and writer for the past fourty-five years, persevering the delemas and catastrophic residuals a moody fool can incur whilst persuing his muse. Studied under two European 'lesser' albeit wonderfully talented masters for the basics. Started as a 'Surealist' and then into various abstract concepts. Currently I'm finishing a surealist-humanist series that was started fifteen years ago or there about,titled the 'Beastie Series'. A serious and graphic interpretation of morals, ethics and human folly. These paintings in oil range from 8'x5' to 24"x24" accompanied by smaller drawings in oil pastel, pencil and pen and ink.The abstracts are a pasion now and are probably related to the expressionist thinking.
I also write/illustrate novels and childrens books. Working on a graphic novel with the utmost respect for those who do so as their full time occupation. Still looking for the right venue to present these things.
I'm a Humanist by nature and respect the open mind.
Art is an indigenous aspect in all human beings only awaiting awakening...ergo the near universal appreciation of one kind of art or another.....
