Draven Brite abstract mixed media
.
"I have the gift of neither the spoken nor the written word, especially if I have to say something about myself or my work. Whoever wants to know something about me -as an artist, the only notable thing- ought to look carefully at my pictures and try and see in them what I am and what I want to do."
Gustav Klimt
My art is a passion for me, Its a god given talent. This is not to say my art is in anyway god like or of his greatness.
God gives us all a talent and a purpose for being here what we make of it is up to us.
My work 90% of the time is abstract, some have meaning some do not
It all has heart, It all is done with passion and I believe it shows in each and every piece
I will soon to be 49 years old, I was born an artist and will die an artist. I may never be a famous artist and I'll never be a rich artist but an artist non the less and thats what really matters in the end.
I guess you could call me a child of the seventies, born in 1960 , by '71-'72 I could see that art was going to
be a fact of my life. There was no fighting it,I was drawing and painting on anything I could. My parents pushed me toward art telling me I had been drawing since I was a little kid of 2 or 3 so when I say I have been doing this all my life I guess its so.
My first influence of abstract art was Artnews magazine I could not wait for it to come out every month.
I remember when I first saw a Salvador Dali poster ,litho, it was so amazing to me. I would have given anything to have a litho of my work
Education
In the early 80's I attended The Art Institute of Chicago where I recieved my degree. Since then my life has been non-stop study of art and the craft of createing, I have spent uncountable hours prefecting the craft of mixed media on canvas.
