Anne Harrison Embroidery/ watercolours
Born in Leicestershire England I gained my degree and began to work as a Textile Designer for several years only leaving to care for our 2 sons.When they started full time education I started to develop my interest in the combined use of embroidery and watercolours.
By painting directly onto the canvas and embelishing with embroidery I begin to create stunning impressions of the English Countryside.
By highlighting the foliage and flowers with the texture of the embroidery the depth of the image begin to emerge.
Finally the embroidery is extended into the mount which adds to the feeling of the perspective view.
