Carolyn Barth Acrylic Painting

My art develops from images emerging during the painting process. I work quickly, applying paint freely, exploring color, shape, texture and line. My interest is in the excitement of motion and discovery and of creating something new and unique.

For landscape painting, I usually start with a snapshot, but once I begin applying paint, I rely on intuition, imagination and memory to create a mood or an impression of time and place.

I was born in Montreal, grew up in Connecticut, and moved to Florida in 1997. I have a degree in Art Education from Southern Connecticut State University and have studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia. After working for a short period illustrating children‘s educational materials, I returned to fine art as my main focus. I am a Signature Member of the Artists‘ Guild of the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
