Marcia Hirschy Transparent Watercolor, Mixed Media
Realistic, transparent watercolor has been Marcia Hirschy’s consuming passion for several years. Her specialties include animal and people portraits, folk art, antiques, still-life, tropical flora and fauna.
Marcia qualified as an Artmember of the National League of American Pen Women in 1998 and as a Letters member in 2005 and now is a board member. A charter member of XII VOICES, she holds memberships in and actively exhibits with the Coral Springs Art Guild, Gold Coast Watercolor Society, achieving signature status in 2006 and currently a board member, and the Palm Beach Watercolor Society. In 2006, she was appointed to the Cultural Arts Committee in the city of Pompano Beach. Hirschy guided the Cultural Arts Committee in 2007 in the establishment of two new free spaces for emerging and professional artists to display their works monthly at the E. Pat Larkins and the Herb Skolnick Community Centers.
Marcia holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Butler University and a Masters degree from the University of St. Francis in Indiana. Her work is in private collections nationwide. A featured “live artist” at the Delray Art and Jazz Festival, Hirschy won ‘Best in Show’ in the 2002 Gold Coast Watercolor Society exhibit at the Broward County Main library, Gallery 6. From 2004 - 2007, she became editor of the Gold Coast newsletter, circulation 300. Marcia’s paintings were featured in a solo exhibition at the Pompano Beach, Bank United for two months during 2007. She exhibits at the Fort Lauderdale Parker Playhouse with the Kosh Group. Currently, her work may be seen at the Manor Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Fort Lauderdale and at the offices of Dr. Allin Crouch, DDS, in Lighthouse Point, FL.

Plein air landscapes, seascapes, still-life, antiques and portraiture inspire me. My presentations range from photorealism to impressionism.
